DAY 1 Tuesday, 12 May 2026

Premiere Inn 3* Edinburgh City (Waverly)

Well, my good friends, here’s the plan for our grand tour of bonnie Scotland!

We’ll fly in from our home cities, and once you’ve stretched the legs after the flight, grab a cab straight into town. No need to rush — drop the bags at the hotel and then it’s time to get your bearings.
Rooms are not expected to be ready for check-in before 3pm or later. You will be able to leave your bags at the hotel and head out into the city.

A great way to start is with one of those Hop-On Hop-Off buses.. They’re brilliant for the first day — you can sit back, take in the sights, and decide where you’d like to linger later. Roll through the heart of Edinburgh’s Old Town, where every cobblestone seems to have a tale to tell, and the sound of the bagpipes might just drift down from the castle itself. There will be a ticket for the Hop-On Hop-Off as well as an entry ticket to Edinburgh Castle and waiting for you at the hotel desk

And if you’ve a bit of time left before dinner, I’d recommend a stroll through The Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh — it’s a real gem. The place has been thriving for over 350 years, with 70 acres of peaceful beauty to wander through. You’ll find rare plants from every corner of the globe, and if you look up from the blooms, you’ll catch a grand view of the city skyline. It’s a lovely way to ease into the rhythm of Scotland — calm, green, and full of quiet wonder.

Everyone will be coming in from everywhere and energy levels may be varied so we aim for an early Welcome Dinner where we can trade tales of the day’s travel over a good meal and maybe raise a toast to Scotland’s Royal City then head away to bed before it’s too late. Time and place to be before we fly in.

DAY 2

Premiere Inn 3* Edinburgh City (Waverly)

After a good Scottish breakfast in the hotel, we’ll gather ourselves and step out into the day, where our luxury coach will be waiting to carry us just beyond the city. As we leave Edinburgh behind, the landscape softens into rolling countryside, the kind that invites stories—and Scotland has no shortage of them.

Our destination this morning is Rosslyn Chapel, a place where history, myth, and mystery sit shoulder to shoulder. Built in the mid-15th century by Sir William Sinclair, the chapel is famous for its astonishing stone carvings—angels, vines, biblical scenes, and symbols whose meanings are still debated. It gained worldwide attention through The Da Vinci Code, which linked Rosslyn to the Knights Templar and hidden knowledge carved in stone. While the novel takes creative liberties and there is no firm historical proof of Templar ownership, the Sinclair family’s connections to medieval Europe have ensured the theories endure. One of the chapel’s great focal points is the Apprentice Pillar, surrounded by a legend of jealousy and murder that only adds to its mystique.

And then there is the question everyone asks—is it haunted? Officially, no. Unofficially, many visitors and staff have reported strange lights, unexplained sounds, and an unmistakable sense of presence, particularly near the Apprentice Pillar. Some speak of chanting when the chapel is empty, others of fleeting figures seen out of the corner of the eye. Whether it’s imagination, atmosphere, or history leaving its echo behind, Rosslyn Chapel has a way of quieting voices and sharpening the senses. You may leave with more questions than answers—but that, perhaps, is exactly the point.

By midday, we’ll make our way back to Edinburgh, arriving around lunchtime. From here, the afternoon and evening are yours to enjoy at your own pace. Perhaps a wander along Princes Street, a ramble through the Old Town, or a quiet pint in a snug pub where the fire is always lit and the conversation comes easy. Dinner this evening is on your own—take your booklet’s advice or follow your own curiosity.

Tonight, we settle in at the Premier Inn Edinburgh City Centre (Waverley) giving you a restful night’s sleep before the road calls us again tomorrow. Have your bags packed for the morning as the wild winding roads await us.

DAY 3

– Killin Hotel 3*

After breakfast in the hotel, we’ll set off for a full day on the road aboard our luxury coach, heading north into the heart of Scotland. Our first stop is a photo opportunity at The Kelpies, two colossal steel horse heads rising from the landscape. Inspired by Scotland’s mythical water spirits, they also pay tribute to the working horses that once powered the canals and industry of the country—ancient legend meeting modern engineering in dramatic fashion.

From here, we continue to the Falkirk Wheel, one of Scotland’s most remarkable modern landmarks. This rotating boat lift is the only one of its kind in the world, and we’ll experience it properly with a boat ride, watching as engineering does something that feels quietly magical—lifting boats between canals with elegant ease.

We then make our way to Stirling, a town that has sat at the crossroads of Scottish history for centuries. There will be time for lunch before we visit Stirling Castle, one of the most important strongholds in the country. Perched high above the surrounding land, this was once home to Scottish kings and queens, including Mary, Queen of Scots. The views alone tell you why battles were fought for this place.

In the afternoon, we drive north toward Killin, where the scenery begins to soften into lochs, glens, and long, winding roads. Along the way, we’ll take a short detour to see the Falls of Falloch, a beautiful waterfall tucked into woodland—a brief pause to stretch the legs and let the sound of rushing water do its work. It is nicknamed “Rob Roy’s Bathtub” because legend says the famous outlaw Rob Roy MacGregor used the deep, circular pool at the waterfall’s base for bathing. You, though, may have to wait for the hotel for your shower.

This evening, dinner is at your leisure, and we’ll settle in for the night at the Killin Hotel, a welcoming 3-star property set at the edge of Loch Tay, with the promise of fresh Highland air and a quieter rhythm to end a full and memorable day.

DAY 4

-Premier Inn 3* Oban

After breakfast in the hotel, we’ll check out and set our course westward, travelling toward Oban, the gateway to the Isles. The journey itself is part of the pleasure today, with mountains closing in, lochs stretching alongside the road, and that growing sense that the Atlantic is not far away.

Along the way, we’ll pause in Ballachulish, a village framed by dramatic Highland scenery, for time to enjoy lunch or perhaps a proper cup of tea with a fresh scone. It’s a good moment to slow the pace, take in the views, and watch the light move across the water and hills.

Arriving in Oban, we’ll visit the Oban Distillery, one of Scotland’s oldest and smallest working distilleries, right in the heart of the town. Here, we’ll enjoy a guided tour and tasting, learning how sea air, tradition, and patience come together to create a whisky with a distinctly coastal character.

Afterwards, we’ll check in to our hotel before heading out for a groupdinner at a local restaurant. Overnight accommodation isat the Premier Inn Oban, a comfortable 3-star hotel, rounding out a day that blends scenery, flavour, and Highland hospitality.

DAY 5

-Premier Inn 3* Oban

Right so, rise and shine, my friends — a truly magical day awaits us among the isles! After breakfast at the hotel, we’ll meet our coach and make our way down to Oban Port, where the sea air will greet us and the ferries come and go like clockwork.

We’ll board the CalMac ferry bound for Craignure, sailing across the Sound of Mull. Keep your eyes peeled — you might just spot a seal, a sea eagle, or even a dolphin playing in the wake! The crossing itself is a joy — a short voyage, but enough to give you that island feeling as the hills of Mull rise up ahead.

Once we arrive in Craignure, we’ll set off on a panoramic drive across the Isle of Mull toward Fionnphort, passing through some of the most breathtaking scenery in all of Scotland. The roads twist and wind through glens and over moors, with rugged peaks on one side and sea views on the other. We will have arranged a packed lunch for you from the hotel, as we’ll be picnicking like true travelers today — maybe beside a loch or looking out over the Atlantic.

From Fionnphort, we’ll board the passenger ferry across to Iona, a tiny island with a mighty place in history. This is holy ground — the cradle of Scottish Christianity. It was here, in the 6th century, that St. Columba arrived from Ireland to spread the faith.

We’ll visit Iona Abbey, founded around 1200 by the sons of Somerled, the great “King of the Isles.” Though the abbey fell silent after the Reformation of 1560, pilgrims have continued to come here for centuries, drawn by the peace of the place. It’s said that the Book of Kells— one of the most treasured manuscripts in the world — was created right here on this sacred isle.

Inside the Abbey Museum, you’ll find some of Scotland’s finest early medieval carved stones and crosses, each telling its own story of faith and artistry. The atmosphere is one of quiet reverence — a place where time seems to stand still, and the sea whispers the prayers of centuries past.

When our visit draws to a close, we’ll return by ferry from Iona to Fionnphort, meet our coach again, and make our way back across Mull to Craignure. From there, it’s another lovely sail back to Oban, where we’ll transfer to our hotel for the evening.

Dinner tonight is on your own, so you’re free to choose your own spot. Perhaps some fresh seafood down by the harbor, or a cozy pub meal with a bit of local music to round off the day. Whatever you choose, this night in Oban will surely be one to remember — the echo of Iona still lingering in your heart.

DAY 6

-Leonardo Royal Hotel 4* Glasgow

Time to bid farewell to Oban, but don’t worry, there’s plenty more Scottish charm in store today!

After breakfast in the hotel, we’ll check out and begin our journey south toward Glasgow, travelling by Luxury coach. As we leave the west coast behind, the road carries us through landscapes that have inspired poets and songwriters for generations.

Our route brings us to the picture-perfect village of Luss, sitting neatly on the western shore of Loch Lomond. With its stone cottages, flower-lined paths, and views across the water, Luss is the sort of place that invites an unhurried wander. You’ll have free time here to enjoy lunch at your own pace, whether that’s a light bite, a café by the loch, or simply something simple with a view.

Who’ll take the high road, and who’ll the low road? Maybe we should all go on the small path in the middle and arrive together.

From Luss, we step aboard a ferry cruise on Loch Lomond, sailing south across Scotland’s largest freshwater loch toward Alexandria (Balloch). From the water, the loch reveals its true scale—wooded islands, long shorelines, and hills that seem to roll gently into the distance. It’s a peaceful and fitting farewell to the Highlands as we make our way toward the Lowlands.

On arrival in the Glasgow area, we continue into the city and check in to our hotel. The evening is yours, with dinner at leisure—Glasgow offers everything from traditional pubs to lively modern restaurants, and your booklet will point you in the right direction. Overnight accommodation isat the Leonardo Hotel Glasgow Centre, a well-located and comfortable 4-star hotel, placing you right in the heart of Scotland’s largest city.

DAY 7

-Leonardo Royal Hotel 4* Glasgow

After breakfast in the hotel, the day is yours to explore Glasgow at your own pace, beginning with a Hop-On / Hop-Off bus tour. This is an easy and flexible way to get your bearings in the city, taking in highlights such as George Square, the River Clyde, the West End, and the city’s impressive Victorian architecture, all while choosing where and when to step off and explore further.

The remainder of the day is at leisure, with lunch for you to enjoy wherever curiosity leads—perhaps a museum café, a traditional pub, or one of Glasgow’s many lively neighbourhoods. This is a good opportunity for last-minute shopping, gallery visits, or simply soaking up the city’s character.

This evening, we’ll come together one final time for a farewell dinner at a local restaurant within walking distance of the hotel (to be confirmed). It’s a chance to raise a glass, share stories from the road, and mark the end of our journey through Scotland. Overnight accommodationat the Leonardo Hotel Glasgow Centre, a comfortable 4-star base for our final night in the city.

DAY 8

Farewell to Scotland! – May 19th, 2026

Ah, my friends — the final morning has arrived. After a last hearty breakfast at the hotel, it’s time to gather your bags and check out.

As we wave goodbye to Scotland, think back on all the lochs and castles, the myths and music, the laughter and stories we’ve shared along the way. Scotland will have opened their hearts to us, and I hope the memories we’ve made will stay with you long after your journey ends.

Farewell, my friends — until we meet again on these green and misty isles!
